Q: What Makes Thanksgiving Special for You?

Here are a few of our family’s Thanksgiving traditions to inspire you.

In the video above, I’m coming to you right from my kitchen. Don’t worry, I won’t be sharing any recipes or cooking tips; if you know me, you know I’m not a good cook. However, to me, Thanksgiving is all about traditions and memories.

So today I’m sharing a few of our traditions and the memories that go along with them. If you’re starting a family or would like to begin a new tradition, they may inspire you.

My husband Chad loves getting sweet potatoes in a large box because it reminds him of his childhood; his parents always got a huge box of sweet potatoes and would load you up with them if you came to visit. Thankfully, I can make sweet potato casserole. (Maybe because I had to figure out what to do with them all). So, one of our traditions is to always have sweet potato casserole for every Thanksgiving in the same dish. I know I can show up with this side dish and make everyone happy.

To me, Thanksgiving is all about traditions and memories.

We also always have pickles and olives in my grandmother’s serving dish because that’s what she provided every year. Finally, we have my Nanny’s black tiara goblets that I get out during the holiday season for drinks and think about her while I’m using them.
