How to eliminate distractions

How to eliminate distractions

Distractions are what you don't want your buyers to see. For example, when you have your house photographed and you have things that may distract the buyers from taking in the beauty of the home while looking at it online they may just pass on by the house.

Here are some best tips from the team for getting rid of distractions when staging your home to sell or show.

For Cryssi, when staging a house, one tip she would give to sellers is to make sure that the front porch is clean. Buyers will stand on the porch for a good amount of time while waiting for the key to come out of the lockbox in order to access your home. Seeing a clean and tidy porch can help sell your house. First impressions are everything in real estate, so making sure you start with a good impression is essential. .

Putting away the clutters is a must for Chris, this is to make sure that the buyers can focus on how beautiful the home is rather than the things laying around. If you have children, make sure that the toys are put away.  It is always a good idea to get rid of as much clutter as possible.

Sean, is gently reminding the sellers who own guns to hide them away because a lot of the time in the showing, there's a family with children with them. Home buyers when they see guns can become distracted and that is what we want to avoid.

Karma advised the sellers to clean off the counter space and put things away in the kitchen. The kitchen is where buyers can best experience a home's heart. To see an example of the difference it can make here is Jenny in her kitchen giving a demonstration.

For Kailey, one of the things that needs to be focused on is creating a game plan for the animals. We always want buyers to be comfortable when showing a home. Animals can be a problem based on their experiences, and possibly even having allergies.

Jenny says, cleaning is always the best advice I can give to buyers to help them sell their home. Some of us are not gifted with the gift of cleaning and some of us are. If you are not, you can always reach out to friends or family who may be able to assist you, or you can hire a professional. Because giving your house a deep cleaning can really work wonders!

We hope this information is useful! If you are ready to sell your home, reach out to us, we are happy to help.
